We are living in an hour where there are so many unfulfilled dreams in the body of Christ. This has really been weighing heavily on my heart and I’ve been asking God why and taking notes on what He has been dropping in my spirit.
One of the biggest reasons most dreams aren’t realized is because they’re really only fantasies. How can you tell the difference between a dream and a fantasy? A dream will cause you to grab it so intensely that you create a plan and execute it. If you don’t have a plan to carry out your dream you are in a state of fantasy and it’s time to wake up….
A fantasy is something that is usually an unrealistic or improbable mental image. It’s also taking an achievable dream distorting and blowing it so far out of proportion that it becomes fantasy, making it impossible to fulfill. Too much time is often devoted to fantasizing about “the day”. You know “the day”; “The day” I become a billionaire by hitting the lottery, the day I become the next great pastor, or Joyce Meyers by following their ministries and subscribing to a 1,000 other blogs, the day my husband magically becomes Robert Redford or Denzel Washington, or how about the day my life is in perfect order; my children are perfect angels and my house is in such impeccable condition that I’m living like June Cleaver or Donna Reed. Yes Saints THAT would be fantasy and wake up Alice; it’s time to come out of Wonderland. It’s time to discern fantasy from dream so we can move forward in the things of God.
While God is the giver of dreams, He gives us dreams that can be realized in Him and through His grace. This is not to say God does not or will not give us dreams that are bigger than “us” because He does, oh yes He does. What I’m implying is that His dreams no matter how big are obtainable in HIM and through Him. He also gives us the wisdom and tools to put into application the things we need too that we may see these dreams manifest, in other words a plan.
Planning is crucial after all, our Heavenly Father is the master planner, in fact His word says in Jeremiah 1:5 “Before, I formed you in the womb I knew you: Before you were born, I sanctified you” this shows us we were planned and not just a random manifestation of our parents physical encounter.
In Jeremiah 29:11 it says “for I know the plans I have you; plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. God had a plan for our lives eve before He shaped and formed us. Our lives are not an after-thought, nor are they something that we are to just haphazardly live from day to day. We are designed to live out a plan by a plan, in HIS plan.
I believe some don’t seek out the plan of God for their lives out of fear. We’re afraid that His plan will not line up with ours and rather than trust Him we attempt to live life on our own accord and by our own design. In the hour we are living in time is precious and we must be about the Father’s business (His plan) for our lives. We can’t afford to just “do me” and toss out to God whatever we plan on doing and ask Him to bless it. It doesn’t work that way, God blesses what He has ordained. Proverbs 19:21 says Many are the plans in a man’s heart but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. It also says in Proverbs 14:12 and again in Proverbs 16:25 that “there is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death” God’s will is for us to have life and that more abundantly, so how do we achieve this? By diligently seeking His face for His plan then following it!
If God has given you a dream of great wealth He has a plan for you to achieve it. He said in Deuteronomy that He has given us the power, ability, skills, aptitude to obtain wealth, this mean He has a plan for you to get it or earn it. You will have to do something; money is not going to fall out of the sky that would make God a counterfeiter and that is something we know He is not.
If you have a dream to be minister on a large platform He has a plan for that too and part of that plan requires you have to be faithful where you are right now. Are you faithful to you daily prayer time? Consistent with your Study time? What about your character and integrity? Is His agenda greater than your own? Before He can trust you with His people on a grand platform, He has to trust you to be faithful to minister to your home, your family and your neighbors.
Has He given you a dream of your husband being your leading man? Then what are you investing in your marriage and into him so that he is not playing second fiddle to a fantasy in your mind that he can never live up too? God has a plan for your successful marriage but you have to know the plan then WORK at it. You have to invest in pouring love, care, words of life and support into your husband so He can rise up to be that man of your dreams. You also have to be honest and even ask yourself if you are dong all you can to be the wife of HIS dreams?
Has the Father given you a dream of a life and home in impeccable order? What’s your plan to make it happen? To have this dream become reality means you will have to work at it. You can’t be sitting on the computer all day reading blogs and playing on Facebook while your home is left unattended and in disarray. Unless you have Florence the maid from The Brady Bunch living with you, you have to get up tend to your home and train your children up in the way that they should go. Donna Reed and June Cleaver were tv show’s you have a real life that needs to be lived. Great lives don’t happen by chance they happen by choice and by CHANGE.
Dear Well Watered Woman of God If you are ready for a change, God want to bring you into change. If you are ready to live your God given dream life you have to lay down the fantasy, seek Him for His plan and put it in place so you can walk out the life you envisioned. Remember you CAN do it, you can do it through Him. He will give us the fulfillment of our dreams when we allow His plan to be in effect.
Until Next Time,
